I’ve always been drawn to ceramics. Whenever I visit museums, thrift shops, or galleries, my eyes quickly spot the beautifully crafted ceramic pieces.

However, I never gave myself the chance to make them myself. That is, until the end of 2021 when I finally sat behind a pottery wheel and fell in love with the clay, the process, and the endless possibilities it offers.

Becoming proficient in ceramics requires a considerable amount of time, as there is an abundance of knowledge to acquire and many discoveries to be made.

Even minor discoveries throughout the process, such as molding the clay, trimming a piece, or applying glaze, can brighten my day. Some discoveries are made intentionally, while others occur by chance.

While some discoveries can be easily reproduced, others may only be one-hit wonders or result in beautiful disasters that must be accepted.
